Timesheet 1: weekly hours

A weekly timesheet: a row per project and a box per day, time typed the way people say it (1.5, 1:30, 90m), totals worked out as you type, daily bars that say when a day runs over, weeks to page through, and submit that locks the week.

State

The normal view. Pick a state to see what the block shows while it loads, is empty or fails.

Open in v0 (opens in a new tab)

Installation

$ pnpm dlx shadcn@latest add @ballmac/timesheet-1

Usage

Example: timesheet-1-demo.tsx
"use client"

import { Timesheet1 } from "@/components/ballmac/blocks/timesheet-1/timesheet-1"

export default function Timesheet1Demo() {
  return <Timesheet1 onSubmit={() => new Promise((r) => setTimeout(r, 700))} />
}

States

Pass state and the block does the rest: skeletons that match its layout, a clear empty message, an error you can retry, and announcements for screen readers.

  • Loading

    A skeleton grid under the real heading, announced as loading.

    state="loading"
  • No projects

    Says to add a project; emptyState sets the copy and can add a button.

    state="empty" (or projects={[]})
  • Could not load

    An alert saying nothing was changed, with Try again (onRetry). A failed submit says nothing was lost, in place under the table.

    state="error"

Quality scorecard

8/8

Every applicable check passes

Measured in Chromium 153.0.8010.12 on October 19, 2026, on version 1.0.0, across 5 examples.

How we measure
  • Passed: Accessibility scan

    No serious or critical issues in light and dark, on a phone and a desktop (axe-core 4.13.0, WCAG 2.1 AA and best-practice rules).

  • Passed: Small screens

    No sideways scrolling at 360, 390 or 1280 px wide.

  • Passed: Reduced motion

    Every endless animation stops when the visitor asks for less motion.

  • Passed: Right to left

    Mirrors correctly in Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu layouts (0% of elements off the mirror, limit 15%).

  • Passed: Clean console

    No console errors or React hydration errors while loading.

  • Passed: Keyboard

    33 tab stops, each showing a visible change when it takes focus. 3 documented keys.

  • Passed: Loading, empty and error

    Ships loading, empty, error states, each with an example.

  • Passed: Automated tests

    Covered by timesheet-1.test.tsx.

  • For information: Footprint

    5.1 KB of source (gzip) in 1 file. Installs lucide-react.

Automated checks find a subset of problems and do not replace testing with a screen reader and a keyboard in your own app. What they miss.

Use with AI

A weekly timesheet. <Timesheet1 projects={[{ id, name, client, entries: { '2026-10-12': 240 } /* minutes by ISO date */ }]} available={[{ id, name, client }]} weekStart='2026-10-12' /* a Monday */ dayTarget={8} submittedWeeks={['2026-10-05']} locale onChange={(projectId, date, minutes) => ...} onSubmit={({ weekStart, minutes, entries }) => Promise} />. Typed time accepts 1.5, 1,5, 1:30, 90m and 2h; entries are stored as minutes. A day over 24 hours is refused with the reason; a weekday over dayTarget shows how much over. Submitting locks that week. Reject onSubmit to show the reason and stay open. With the shadcn MCP server set up (guide), ask your agent:
