Incident 1: incident command

The page for people fixing an incident: severity and status in words, the impact, who holds commander, comms and ops, a form that posts an update with its new status, updates newest first, and a Resolve button that asks first.

State

The normal view. Pick a state to see what the block shows while it loads, is empty or fails.

Open in v0 (opens in a new tab)

Installation

$ pnpm dlx shadcn@latest add @ballmac/incident-1

Usage

Example: incident-1-demo.tsx
"use client"

import { Incident1 } from "@/components/ballmac/blocks/incident-1/incident-1"

export default function Incident1Demo() {
  return <Incident1 onPostUpdate={() => new Promise((r) => setTimeout(r, 400))} onResolve={() => new Promise((r) => setTimeout(r, 400))} />
}

States

Pass state and the block does the rest: skeletons that match its layout, a clear empty message, an error you can retry, and announcements for screen readers.

  • Loading

    Skeleton for the header, roles and timeline under the page, announced as loading.

    state="loading"
  • No incident right now

    Says there is no incident right now; emptyState sets the copy.

    state="empty"
  • Could not load

    An alert saying nothing was posted, with Try again (onRetry). A failed update keeps your text and says why.

    state="error"

Dependencies

Use with AI

An incident command page. <Incident1 incident={{ id, title, severity: 'SEV1' | 'SEV2' | 'SEV3', status: 'investigating' | 'identified' | 'monitoring' | 'resolved', startedAt, duration, impact, roles: { commander?, comms?, ops? }, updates: [{ id, time, author, status, body }] }} people={[...]} me='Priya Shah' onPostUpdate={({ status, body }) => Promise} onResolve={() => Promise} onAssign={(role, person) => void} />. Pass incident={null} for no incident. Resolve asks first, posts a final update and closes the form. With the shadcn MCP server set up (guide), ask your agent:
